On the third anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, the Foundation provided its first grant to the Boston Policeman’s Athletic League (PAL) which provides role models to children through athletic, recreational and educational activities working to foster a sense of community and counteract destructive influences. Through PAL the Foundation has been able to sponsor Girls Night, a program geared to empowering young women in the Boston community through social and athletic programs as well as an array of programs and activities for young people across the City of Boston.
The Foundation is pleased to continue providing a grant to PAL annually in memory of Lingzi Lu. PAL fosters a culture of trust and respect between the community and the Boston Police Department through programs that promote character development, improve educational outcomes, and reduce crime.
